Krit Ngamsom

1983, Phichit,  Thailand

Krit Ngamsom is a graduate of the School of Art at Bangkok University and graduated with a Master’s degree in Visual Art at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang.

Born in Phichit, Thailand, 1983, Krit made his name with “My Folk Experience of Kinetic Technology,” his first solo exhibition, as part of the Brand New 2008 project.

Most of his works utilize found objects which offer humorous or even sarcastic takes on politics, religion, and art itself. Many pieces incorporate movement and animation – including “Klong Plane” 2011 and “Duchamp’s Heaven” 2011.

He creates interactive works influenced by childhood memories, often incorporating domestic objects such as electric fans and kitchen utensils. Krit was one of the artists selected for Thailand’s Brand New 2008. Earlier, he had participated in the group exhibitions Bangkok Bananas, Imagine Peace, Bangkok 226, Traces of Siamese Smile at Bangkok Art and Culture Center, Nuova (Arte) Povera Osage Gallery Hong Kong, and Thai Transience Singapore Art Museum.
