Tao Hui
1987, Chongqing ,China Lives and works in Beijing
Born in Yunyang, Chongqing Province in 1983 and graduated in 2010 from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute with a BFA in Oil Painting, Tao Hui currently lives and works in Beijing. He won the special award of Contemporary Art Archive from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 2008, and the Grand Prize at Contemporary Art Festival Sesc_VideoBrasil in 2015; he had also been shortlisted twice in two previous editions. Tao Hui is also the winner of Art Sanya & Huayu Youth Grand Award in 2015.

เถา ฮุย จบการศึกษาจากสถาบันวิจิตรศิลป์เสฉวน สาขาจิตรกรรมสีน้ำมันในปี พ.ศ.2553 ขณะเรียน เขามีผลงานโดดเด่นจนได้รับรางวัลมากมาย ปี พ.ศ. 2551 ได้รับรางวัลพิเศษจาก Contemporary Art Archive สถาบันศิลปะเสฉวน, พ.ศ. 2558 ได้รางวัลศิลปะเยาวชน โครงการ Art Santa & Huayu Youth Award และชนะรางวัลใหญ่ในงาน Contemporary Art Biennial Sesc_Videobrasil” ครั้งที่ 19 ฯลฯ
ผลงานของเถา ฮุย จะเน้นประเด็นทางวัฒนธรรมและเชื้อชาติ โดยเขาใช้สื่อศิลปะหลายแขนง ทั้งวีดีโอ, สิ่งประดิษฐ์ และงานศิลปะจัดวาง แนวทางที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์ของเขา คือการสร้างฉาก และคำอุปมาอุปมัยที่แปลกประหลาดและเหนือจริง เพื่อตั้งคำถามเกี่ยวกับหลักการ ของการสร้างสังคมเมือง ผลงานของเขามักกระตุ้นเตือนสังคมหรือแม้แต่ชี้ทางสว่าง แต่ก็มาในรูปแบบของการแสดงอารมณ์ความรู้สึกที่รุนแรง และการบังคับให้คนออกไปจากที่ที่อยู่
เถา ฮุย เชิญชวนให้ผู้ชมได้เผชิญหน้ากับตัวเอง ต่างคน ต่างที่มา ต่างภูมิหลังทางสังคม ซึ่งก็จะทำให้ได้ผลลัพท์จากการชมงานที่แตกต่างกันออกไป
