Nopchai is a member of Nuts Society, a group of artists working anonymously toward stimulating social awareness through the use of ready-to-use everyday life materials that render new experiences. Nopchai combines neon, wood and ready-to-use everyday objects to create luminescent sculptures.

For the Bangkok Art Biennale, Nopchai’s neon works are placed on Level 3rd of the Bangkok Art and Culture Center (BACC) near the entrance connecting to BTS Sky Walk. For Nopchai, this neon rocket symbolizes Bangkok as our alluring center for contemporary art.

นพไชย หรือ ต้อย หนึ่งในศิลปินไทยใน Nuts Society กลุ่มศิลปินนิรนามที่นำศิลปะมาเป็นตัวกระตุ้นให้เกิดการตระหนักถึงเรื่องผิดชอบชั่วดีใน สังคม ด้วยการนำวัสดุสำเร็จรูปที่เห็นได้ในชีวิตประจำวันมานำเสนอให้เห็นถึงความงามและความบกพร่องของสิ่งต่างๆ ศิลปินนำหลอดนีออนไม้ และวัตถุสำเร็จรูปประกอบกันเป็นประติมากรรมเรืองแสง และศิลปะจัดวางที่เกิดจากการผสมผสานหลอดไฟนีออนเข้าไปเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของผลงาน

สำหรับบางกอก อาร์ต เบียนนาเล่ ครั้งนี้ ประติมากรรมหลอดไฟนีออนของเขาจะถูกจัดแสดงไว้ทั้งภายในและภายนอกของอาคารอีสต์ เอเชียติก หลอดฟลูออเรสเซนต์จะทำหน้าที่เป็นเครื่องหมายนำทางและงานศิลปะที่ฉายแสงประดับอาคารสถาปัตยกรรมที่สร้างขึ้นในคริสต์ศตวรรษ ที่ 19 ที่สถาปนิกชาวอิตาลีสร้างขึ้นให้กับบริษัท สัญชาติเดนมาร์ก และสำหรับนพไชย จรวดนีออน จะช่วยแต่งเติมให้กรุงเทพฯ กลายเป็นเมืองแห่งศิลปะร่วมสมัย
