Natee Utarit’s approach to painting has made him one of the most distinctive artists in Thai contemporary art. Natee experimented with painting techniques including traditional Thai art, Renaissance and Baroque painting. His outstanding solo exhibitions include ‘Illustration of the Crisis, ‘View from the Tower’ and ‘Optimism is Ridiculous’. He has exhibited at the Singapore Art Museum, Queensland Art Gallery, Soka Art Center, 789. Bejing, and Saatchi Gallery, London.

In Bangkok Art Biennale, Natee’s view on bliss is expressed in Christian and Buddhist subjects and iconography related to repentance, purgatory and suffering. Overlapping symbols related to blind faith and death are represented in gilded diptych and triptych frames. Flesh and bones immaculately painted remind us of the short span of time we have in this world of impermanence.
