Andrew Stahl is a professor of Fine Art at UCL Slade School of Fine Art. Stahl tells stories of his journeys into foreign lands and cultures. His paintings at East Asiatic Building reflect Bangkok in layers of thoughts, physical manifestations, and electric energy. For him, flowing down Chao Phraya River is a poetic journey of the mind that harks back to the time when Europeans encountered the Siamese who lived on wooden stilts and rafts.

His painting at East Asiatic Building reconnects the past when European traders worked and lived in the Charoenkrung area. His sculptures, on the other hand, consists of scavenged debris, discarded toys, and found objects collected nearby, reflecting the ruined and polluted riverbanks.
