At a young age, Pannaphan Yodmanee has already received overwhelming success with her work being included within the ‘Thailand Eye’ exhibition at at Saatchi Gallery, London and winning the 11th Benesse Prize at the Singapore Biennale 2016. Pannhapan combines her knowledge and expertise in traditional Thai art with bold experiments with new materials and methods. Pannaphan extends her use of mixed media and large-scale installations that reflect the connections between Buddhist philosophy and art history.

At Khao Mor, Wat Pho, Pannaphan’s painted free-standing reliefs are placed delicately to blend with sculptures of contorted hermit figures and Chinese statuettes. Inspired by temple murals full of wisdom, she depicts scenes of Sino-Siamese trade, pilgrimage, mixed faiths and multiple ethnicities.

ศิลปินไทยรุ่นใหม่ที่ประสบความสำเร็จแบบก้าวกระโดด ผลงานล่าสุด Aftermath ของเธอได้รางวัล Benesse Prize ครั้งที่ 11 ในง าน Singapore Biennale 2016 และได้ร่วมจัดแสดงผลงานในนิทรรศการ ‘Thailand Eye’ ที่ Saatchi Gallery กรุงลอนดอน ปานพรรณทำงานโดยใช้ความรู้ด้านงานไทยประเพณีมาผสมกับการนำเสนอศิลปะแบบร่วมสมัย และในช่วงหลังมานี้ ศิลปินเริ่มขยายสเกลการทำงานขึ้นมาเป็นศิลปะจัดวางขนาดใหญ่ บนแนวคิดที่สะท้อนความเชื่อมโยงระหว่างปรัชญาศาสนาพุทธและประวัติศาสตร์ศิลปะ

ในบางกอก อาร์ต เบียนนาเล่ ครั้งนี้ งานจิตรกรรมลอยตัวของเธอจะถูกวางเข้าคู่กับรูปปั้นฤาษีดัดตนและตุ๊กตาอับเฉาบริเวณเขามอในวัดโพธิ์ ผลงานชิ้นนี้ได้แรงบันดาลใจมาจากภาพเขียนฝาผนังในวัดแห่งนี้ โดยจะถ่ายทอดภาพการเดินทางติดต่อค้าขายระหว่างสยามและจีน การเดินทางแสวงบุญ ความแตกต่างด้านศรัทธา และชาติพันธุ์
