Collection of the Artist
For BAB2018, each artist’s work still reflects the way of life, beauty and hope for peace in the Southernmost provinces of Thailand as well as the role of Muslimah with their love and compassion in the part of healing. In these respects, Heedayah employs drawings on local dry hays picturing the care and concerning facial expression of her mother. While Keeta prefers mixed-uses of drawing and printing on paper retelling the way of Muslimah’s living. In a bas-relief appeal, Kusofiyah prints various emblems and motifs on paper folded into forms of people in their routine works to convey the plural culture of her hometown. Whereas Nuriya’s stiched cloth and batik work discloses people’s anxiety towards current situations. Lastly, Arichama’s bond with Muslim’s faith and family’s fishing occupation, is richly shown in her large open-ended cloth of tying organic-threads.
