Famed for their ground-breaking installation and site-specific sculptures, Micheal Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset began working under the moniker, Elmgreen & Dragset in 1995. Their works have featured in international art exhibitions and art festivals such as the Venice Biennale, Berlin Biennale and Gwangju Biennale. In ‘Prada Marfa’ (2005), they created a Prada store in the desert in Texas to reflect the rising tide of fashion and capitalism. ‘Van Gogh’s Ear’ (2016), a large swimming pool in the shape of an ear lobe turned on the side at Rockefeller Plaza, New York, became a sensational work of public art.

‘Zero’ (2018), created site-specifically at the pier in front of the East Asiatic Building is an 8-meter high stainless-steel swimming pool standing majestically on its curved edge. The matte white abstract zero-shape sculpture symbolically connects the Chao Phraya River with the Nordic seas.

ศิลปินคู่หูที่โด่งดังในเรื่องศิลปะจัดวาง Micheal Elmgreen และ Ingar Dragset เริ่มต้นทำงานในชื่อ เอ็มก-รีน แอนด์ แดรกเซท ในปี พ.ศ. 2538 ที่เบอร์ลิน พวกเขาฝากผลงานไว้กับหลายๆ เทศกาลศิลปะทั่วโลกเช่น Venice Biennale, Berlin Biennale หรือ Gwangju Biennale ผลงานที่ทำให้เขาโด่งดังที่สุดคงจะเป็น Prada Marfa ในปี พ.ศ. 2548 ที่ทั้งคู่สร้างช็อปแบรนด์ Prada ไว้กลางทะเลทรายรัฐเท็กซัสเพื่อสะท้อนถึงกระแสทุนนิยมและแฟชั่นที่เชี่ยวกรากในปัจจุบัน ‘Van Gogh’s Ear’ (2016) เป็นสระว่ายน้ำขนาดใหญ่รูปใบหูที่วางตั้งฉากกับพื้นโลก จัดแสดงที่ Rockefeller Plaza กรุงนิวยอร์ก ซึ่งกลายเป็นงานที่โด่งดัง

‘Zero’ (2018) ถูกสร้างขึ้นโดยเฉพาะบนพื้นที่หน้าอาคาร อีสต์ เอเชียติก เป็นสระว่ายน้ำตั้งฉากความสูง 8 เมตร ที่ทำจากสแตนเลสสตีล และรูปทรงนามธรรมที่เหมือนกับเลขศูนย์นี้จะทำหน้าที่เป็นจุดเชื่อมต่อเชิงสัญลักษณ์ระหว่างแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยากับทะเลนอร์ดิก
